Optimal Learning, Inc. was established in May 2022 as a response of young scholars who had fallen academically behind as a direct result of the 2020 Covid-19 epidemic, where millions of students were forced to attend school via distance learning. The achievement gap between African American and Latino students, in comparison with their white counterparts, had grown significantly since prior to the epidemic.

OUR WHY?
African American and Latino scholars tend to gain less over a school year and experience more learning loss over the summer. Students in lower socio-economic areas do not typically have the most effective teachers. "The Harvard Gazette" dated March 18, 2019 makes the following staggering points that solidify our WHY: 1) Extremely disadvantaged students are three to four years behind their more affluent peers; and 2) The opportunity gap has not wavered over the last half-century. We want to do our part in the community to positively impact the students in the greater Inland Empire.
